Hello, my name is Winston Alexander Johnson. I am a junior at Columbus High School in Columbus, Georgia. I’m writing this letter to you as an invitation to watch me play football in my junior and senior year.
My season went well last year ending with 35 tackles, 10 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries. I started on kick off and punt team. I was second string Outside Linebacker/ Defensive End. All my stats came off playing on defense behind a starting senior. Unfortunately, no matter how hard I tried, one player cannot be the whole team, and we went 1-9 in the 08-09 season. The ’09-’10 season I am now starting Defensive End (said to be the second best in the city by most college scouts) and on every special teams. Although I play on the defensive line in high school, I would really reather play fullback in college. I feel that I am not only a threat to the Quarterback coming off the end of the defensive line, but I can also be an asset to the offensive backfield.
Football is the focus in my endeavors to choose the right college, but I am also interested in attending your school because of the excellent education I can receive while I am at your school. I am interested in majoring in criminal investigation or sports medicine. I am very career oriented and I am always making decisions based on future consequences. I feel that by attending your college I can achieve all of my career goals life has to offer.
